What a lovely picture, Father. I looked at it for ever so long. It’s what I wish for all women, that wonderful day, with a wonderful new husband, married by a wonderful priest (who will be such an asset during the marriage, one of the reasons historian John Bossy says English Catholic women were so stubborn about giving up their Faith). Oh, Father, it’s changed so. An African-American woman now has a one in seven chance of marrying. The revolution is over, she lost the most, and nobody won.
Man you have to love the style from the ’80′s, of course you as a priest were allowed to maintain that classic, basic black missing all the faux pas of our youth. That truly is a wonderful shot of you and the young couple. Does this mean the good Father is back in Saint Louis? I am not sure if you would remember me, SLUH class of ’82. I am part owner of what was formerly a photo lab right on the western edge of SLU campus. I never got out of that darkroom, Father.
